Tokyo Recs
The list I send friends when they visit Tokyo: coffee, food, bars, clothes, books, and museums.

People keep asking me where to go in Tokyo, so I wrote it all down. No ranking, no sponsorship, just places I actually go.
Every place is pinned on a map with its address and hours, a Near me button sorts the list by what’s closest to you, and each one opens straight in Google Maps. I keep adding to it, so that page is always the current version.
A few to start with:
- Koffee Mameya Kakeru: a full tasting course made using only coffee. You will leave a coffee snob.
- Fakalo Pizza: a friend who wrote compiler code, then studied in Napoli and now builds his own furnaces. Must reserve.
- LIQUID FACTORY: my friend Keita’s cocktail bar. He’s a world champion bartender and Bruno Mars’s cocktail man when Bruno is in Japan.
- 10tow: probably my favorite vintage store. Garçons, vintage Prada, vintage Gucci.
- 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT: the museum started by Issey Miyake’s foundation with Tadao Ando.
